Public Hearing Cable Franchise Agreement on Dec 20, 2016



This Public Hearing was in relative to Renewal of the City of Kingston's Cable Franchise Agreement with Time Warner Cable. (Spectrum) 10 year contract Expired in 20!6 Speakers Mayor Steve Noble and Clark Richters - Former Film/Producer at Channel 23 which serves City of Kingston, Town of Kingston, Ulster, Rosendale, Hurley, Marbletown. currently Channel 23 is now under Esopus Community TV 23.

Updated 9/12/2020 The City of Kingston receives $405,000 from the Cable franchise fees from the Cable subscribers, and doesn't direct any funds to the Public access station. The City's Cable Franchise Agreement is still being negotiated expired since 2016 with Spectrum. Franchise agreement should include a Studio, Channel lineup, rates and a budget line for Public Access Television.

City of Kingston and the Towns lack to appoint any residence to the Cable Commission.
